There are now doubts about Trudeau’s “political longevity” in light of the unexpected setback.
“I want to be clear that I hear people’s concerns and frustrations, but this was obviously not the result we wanted,” Trudeau said in reference to his party’s performance in the Toronto-St. Paul’s constituency.
“These are challenging times. It’s also evident that in order to bring about genuine, observable change that Canadians can feel and experience, my whole Liberal team and I have a great deal more work ahead of us. My attention is focused on your accomplishment, and it will remain there,” he said.
