- Beijing, China (Reuters) – Due to the expiration of its contracts, Tencent is pulling its popular mobile game “Dungeon & Fighter” (DnF Mobile) from a few Android app stores on Thursday, the business said.
- A common point of friction in developer and Android app store partnership relationships has been the typical 50% revenue-sharing split.
- Which app shops will be impacted was not disclosed by Tencent, the biggest game producer in China in terms of revenue. According to the local media source 21st Century Business Herald, Huawei, Oppo, and Vivo’s app shops are among those that are impacted.
- Tencent and Huawei had a similar disagreement in 2021 when the smartphone manufacturer pulled dozens of Tencent’s mobile games from the app store over an issue with revenue sharing.
