According to a recent Remitly analysis, India is the country from where the majority of immigrant doctors and registered nurses come to the United States. However, India is in third place, after the Philippines and Mexico, when it comes to the total number of immigrant healthcare workers, including nursing assistants and home health aides.
Of the 9.87 lakh physicians in the United States, 2.62 lakh, or roughly 26.5%, are foreign-born. The majority of doctors are Indian, with more Indians than people of any other nationality relocating to the US to practice medicine. For these specialists, the best destination states are New Jersey, Florida, and New York.
