Defending the concept of political correctness in comedy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus has spoken out against the opinions of her Seinfeld co-star Jerry Seinfeld.
The performer stated that she doesn’t think humor is threatened by people becoming sensitive to particular themes and that criticizing it is a “red flag” since it indicates “something else.”
In response to Seinfeld’s remarks regarding political correctness in comedy, she told the New York Times during an interview on The Interview, “I think to have an antenna about sensitivities is not a bad thing.”
That does not imply that all humor is lost as a result. While I can understand why some people might object to political correctness, I find it concerning when individuals start to voice their complaints about it since it might sometimes be a sign of something else. I think it’s okay to be conscious of some sensitivities. There is nothing else that I can say.
After Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David’s beloved sitcom Seinfeld debuted on television in the 1990s, Louis-Dreyfus and Seinfeld became well-known figures.
