Hunter Biden’s gun trial: ‘Politics never came into play,’ juror says following guilty judgment

The younger Biden, who pleaded not guilty in October after being accused by special counsel David Weiss, rejected the claims. The son of a serving president had never faced a criminal prosecution.

The trial followed former President Donald Trump’s conviction on felony charges stemming from a hush money payment designed to bolster his electoral prospects in the 2016 presidential campaign.

President Joe Biden hugged and spent several minutes with his son on the tarmac at DANG, hours after Hunter Biden was found guilty in court.

The president spent a few minutes on the tarmac with Hunter, his wife Melissa, and their young son Beau.

The boy hugged his granddad, who held his face and appeared to kiss him.

A juror in Hunter Biden’s gun trial told ABC News that he didn’t know who Hunter Biden was before the trial began, and that his proximity to power had no impact on the jury.

“Everyone is human, and everyone makes mistakes,” the jury explained. “And those mistakes can have serious consequences — not just for them, but for everyone else.”

The jury, whose father was murdered by gunfire when he was a child, said prosecutors convincingly demonstrated that Hunter Biden’s drug usage during the time of his gun purchase was “too close for me to consider him not a user or addict at that point.”

“There’s too many patterns that I can see that showed that he was using it when he purchased the gun,” the judge stated.

A juror in Hunter Biden’s gun case told ABC News that “politics never came into play” during deliberations and that “the verdict was absolutely not politically motivated.”

The jury stated “it wasn’t that hard” to get a decision, but the panel of 12 had to overcome a six-six vote when discussions started yesterday afternoon.

When jurors returned this morning and deliberated more, he said they concluded that prosecution had fulfilled their burden of proof.

“If you’re an addict, you’re an addict,” he stated.

The juror claimed evidence linking Hunter Biden to a 7/11 convenience shop, where he frequently stated in his memoir and text messages that he bought narcotics, days before his gun purchase put them over the edge.

A senior person knowledgeable on the situation tells ABC News that the Secret Service has not begun prepared for the likelihood that Hunter Biden would be sentenced to jail. Those negotiations with the Bureau of Prisons will begin immediately.

Hunter Biden is protected by the Secret Service as the president’s son, but he has the option to opt out if he so desires.

He now has USSS protection, which will remain as long as his father is president, even in prison, unless he waives the privilege.

When convicted, he may face up to 25 years in jail, but legal experts expect he will not serve time as a first-time, nonviolent offender.
