General Motors unwrapped the refreshed 2024 GMC Terrain, which will offer a new “Elevation” model as the revised standard trim for its entry compact crossover. Outside, it’s rugged; inside, refreshed. It touts 26 inches of digital displays, including a 15-inch center touchscreen and an 11-inch driver information display.
These screens join a slew of new standard safety and convenience features, including adaptive cruise control, front heated seats, and enhanced automatic emergency braking. There’s also wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
GM has simplified its Terrain model lineup by rolling the old “SLE” and “SLT” trims into the new Elevation model—a move already done elsewhere at GMC. Pricing information hasn’t been released for the freshened Terrain, though it’ll start hitting GMC dealers later this year. Prices for today’s Terrain range from $30,000 to $40,000.
First will be an Elevation trim, followed by the off-road-inspired AT4 and a luxury Denali version. The GMC Terrain has long been one of its brand’s best-selling non-truck vehicles, with deliveries jumping 31% year-over-year in the first half of 2024, putting a 17%-off performance in 2023 well in its rearview mirror. The Terrain is built in Mexico. Today it is but one of many and varied models, running from compact crossovers and large trucks and SUVs to the GMC Hummer EVs.
