In various regions of the globe, June brought with it a wave of erratic weather. With the release of “No Sad Song For My Broken Heart,” the follow-up to his 2012 smash song “Please Don’t,” K. Will granted the wishes of all K-pop fans. Let’s examine a few of the June 2024 comebacks that stand out the most.
1. BTS Jung Kook – Always
Hold On To BTS With his most recent hit, “Never Let Go,” Jung Kook surprised his fans well. While Jungkook croons a message of strength and optimism, the song features a gorgeous blend of tropical rhythms and R&B. Even though it’s not a remix, the song has that vibe. With 11 fruitful years having passed since their start, BTS’s song serves as a helpful reminder to both themselves and their fans to never give up.
2. LISA BLACKPINK – ROCKSTAR
LISA has been making blink-and-you-miss appearances at social gatherings, but the gifted rapper hasn’t released any new songs in a while. After much anticipation, LISA finally revealed her much-awaited return with the song “Rockstar.” The rapper-songwriter creates a song that expresses her strong and attractive personality via futuristic and amazing images. As LISA delivers powerful lyrics, the song has a lot of rap and hip-hop rhythms tangled in a web of traps.
3. STRAWBERRY RUSH by CHUU
When one of the liveliest K-pop performers returns, how can the song video be ordinary? With the upbeat pop song “Strawberry Rush,” which has whimsical aspects as she sings the quirky lyrics, our beloved CHUU made a surprise return. Her lovely voice gives the music as a whole a cartoonish vibe.
4. BLOW IN THE BIG OCEAN
Ever since the announcement of its launch, Big Ocean has been creating waves. Members of this group are hard of hearing, and as a way to interact with fans who are also hard of hearing, they include sign language in their choreography. In their most recent return, the group performs the upbeat dance songs from “Blow.” Seeing a bunch put out their best efforts in a field where being an all-arounder is necessary is heartening.
5. THIS MAN, JEONGHAN X WONWOO (SEVENTEEN)
Wonwoo and Jeonghan arrived and served! The song “This Man” marked the duo’s return. Both the music and the visuals for the song are as dramatic as they come. The pair’s husky, low-register tones enhance each other’s vocal styles. The tune takes on a mystery vibe as the silky R&B tones enter.
6. ANTI-HERO EPIK HIGH
The discography of Epik High has finally entered a new chapter. With a ton of new songs under their repertoire, Epik High made a spectacular return after what seemed to be a closure with Epik High Is Here Parts 1 and 2. With the release of the album Pump, the group returned. It includes the song “Anti Hero,” which is quite different from anything they have sung before. However, it also adheres to the core principles of Epik High. The group always amazes us with their fresh ideas, even if the song has a classic blend of tones that Epik High is known for.
7. COSMIC RED VELVET
The “Psycho” hitmakers are returning with a brand-new fantastical story. The members of the group can be seen singing the ethereal lyrics of their return song, “Cosmic,” while traveling through a magical environment in the music video. These days, the sun, signs, and all things spiritual are often mentioned. Red Velvet cleverly recognized these heavenly interventions and released ‘Cosmic,’ a unique fusion of song and words.
8. TWS – Could You Be My N If I’m S?
The group released SUMMER BEAT, their second mini-album! “If I’m S, Can You Be My N?”, the album’s first song, perfectly encapsulates both this particular moment in time and TWS’ incredible summer. Vibrant synth tones are combined with lively rhythms in this hybrid pop song. The main single expresses delight at understanding why opposites attract by comparing it to a magnet’s north and south poles. Through empathetic musical storytelling, it realistically depicts the process of two distinct persons gradually becoming one. The upbeat melody accentuates TWS’s young and invigorating vocals.
9. BADDER LOVE – EVNNE
RIDE or DIE, EVNNE’s third mini-album, is their comeback. The group’s first English single was “Badder Love,” released in Korean and English. The song’s lyrics capture EVNNE’s heedless zeal as they continue to pursue their shared goals and boldly attempt to win over their followers.
