The software tycoon had set all likes to private by default to assist users avoid troll backlash and “better protect user privacy.”
In a new post on X, he claimed that there was a “massive increase in likes after they were made private.”
Following this update, X users will be unable to view content that other users have liked on the site.
However, users can still see the posts they liked, and the original author can see who liked them.
According to the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, the move is critical since it allows individuals to appreciate postings without being harassed for doing so.
The social networking site shows ‘likes’ between you and the author.
“Only the author will be notified. The bookmark is only visible to you. We could even make it user-customizable,” the business stated.
