The top 100 tech start-ups are a chosen group that focuses on using AI innovations to create innovative healthcare solutions, renewable energy solutions, and advancements in biotech, space, and neurotechnology. Over the next two years, these businesses will assist grow the impact of the Forum’s global activities by providing cutting-edge insights and knowledge.
This year’s cohort is using AI and data to improve sustainability and more fair decision-making in sectors and governments, inspired by recent advancements in the field. The community of Technology Pioneers is a prime example of the transformative potential and entrepreneurial spirit necessary to shape a brighter future in the dynamic and rapidly evolving world of technological development today.

There are start-ups from 23 different nations in this year’s Technology Pioneers cohort, with a third headed by a female CEO. This year, with a record number of applications, the emphasis is on businesses that have made technological advancements and are currently experiencing rapid growth. These include biotechnology, AI, quantum, and nuclear fusion. Here are a few of the most compelling instances:
Space
A recent Forum research titled “Space: The $1.8 Trillion Opportunity for Global Economic Growth” predicted that the space industry will reach a value of $1.8 trillion by 2035, from $630 billion in 2023. The enthusiasm and promise of this expanding industry are reflected in the nine space enterprises that make up the 2024 cohort. These companies include satellite manufacturers, in-space manufacturers, and space data providers. Amini, Constellr, Pixxel, Space Forge, SWISSto12, TelePIX, Tenchijin, and UNIO Enterprise are a few of the companies.
Neuroscience
With almost $8 billion in venture capital investment to date and rising (neurotech businesses raised $1.4 billion in 2023, double the amount raised in 2022, according to a Pitchbook article), neurotechnology is another field experiencing rapid growth. This year’s cohort includes four neurotechnology start-ups that will interact with the AI Governance Alliance: BrainQ Technologies, Neurable, OpenBCI, and NextSense.
Eco-Friendly Technology
The 2024 clean technology cohort comprises both proven and upcoming technologies, such as carbon capture, regenerative agriculture, alternative proteins, nuclear fusion, and carbon-negative and circular materials pioneered by these businesses. These businesses are scaling over the course of the next year after reaching or nearly achieving success in their pilot programs.
