Radiance Technologies, a Huntsville-based defense contractor, announced a $370.65M investment on August 27, 2025, to build a 40,000-sq-ft secure microchip packaging facility in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana. Set to enhance national security and local growth, it will create 150 direct jobs by summer 2027.

Economic Impact

The facility will generate 150 jobs with an average salary of $85,000—180% above the parish average—plus 146 indirect jobs, totaling 296 new positions. This expands Radiance’s 14 existing roles in Louisiana, strengthening Ruston’s economy.

Facility Details

Located north of the Ruston Sports Complex, the plant will house R&D, design, and fabrication for secure microchips, vital for defense and intelligence. Construction begins in spring 2026, with completion expected by summer 2027.

State and University Support

Louisiana Economic Development (LED) is investing $37M: $20M in performance-based grants to the Louisiana Tech University Foundation for equipment and $17M to Louisiana Tech for research upgrades and secure chip manufacturing training programs.

Partnership with Louisiana Tech

Radiance, a tenant at Louisiana Tech’s Enterprise Campus, leverages faculty expertise and student talent. The university foundation secured land with Ruston’s city, cementing a partnership to drive innovation and workforce development.

Future Outlook

This facility positions Ruston as a tech hub, complementing regional projects like Meta’s $10B data center. Radiance’s investment could attract suppliers and businesses, fostering a tech ecosystem while bolstering U.S. microchip self-sufficiency.
