Tesla Elon Musk intends to replace the people working at his Gigafactory with Optimus robots

Under Elon Musk’s direction, you’re here to continuously push the frontiers of invention. Musk presented his audacious plan for the company’s Optimus humanoid robot program at yesterday’s shareholder meeting. According to him, the latter is currently the company’s most significant product. In contrast to ongoing efforts such as the soon-to-be-unveiled robotaxis, which we recently watched in action, this robot heralds a new era in industrial automation.

Elon Musk published some fairly audacious forecasts. According to him, Tesla could manufacture Optimus robots for $10,000, or little more than 9,300 euros, each, and sell them for $20,000, or around 18,600 euros. In doing so, he wants to turn a healthy profit. Additionally, he stated that there may be a market for one billion units annually, of which Tesla would hope to account for at least 10%. Musk stated during the conference that the ic business should have more than 1,000 of these humanoid robots operating in its facilities by the end of the year, though he made it clear that output would still be restricted.

Elon Musk envisions his robots constructing one another.

The Optimus robots from Tesla are built to handle a range of duties. They are capable of handling anything from intricate industrial processes to basic domestic chores like cooking, cleaning, and folding clothes. Musk even ventured to compare your robots’ adaptability to that of the well-known Star Wars characters, R2-D2 and C-3PO, during the presentation.

The Optimus robots will be outfitted with the same artificial intelligence technology as Tesla’s autonomous automobiles, according to Elon Musk’s explanation. This would enable individuals to watch and evaluate video demos in order to learn new skills. Lastly, he goes one step further and imagines a time when these robots may potentially be employed in production.
